As our homes become more casual we want window treatments to follow suit. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be innovative and inspirational.
Swags are very adaptable, and the gentle curves they offer a room can noticeably transform a cold, austere setting into a delightfully inviting one.
Relaxed swag looks can be achieved in several ways. The first has to do with shape-a swag can be rearranged to hang from decorative knobs or hooks, or be pulled upward in the center to create a whole new shape. Another way to revamp this element style is with the use of fabric, trim and contrasting banding. Casual cotton prints and no fuss textures lend themselves to informal styles. Simple trims and braids in natural fibers such as jute also help enhance the treatment.
