Why doesn’t the pattern on my curtains match up?

Simply put, prepackaged inexpensive goods are not pattern matched. This so the manufacturer can make goods cheaper.
For instance, in the example in the photo, the Jayden, (by the way plaids are notorious for this), the fabric has a 3” pattern repeat. If each time the manufacturer, through away the 3” of fabric, they would have to use more fabric, which would increase their costs.
I am not saying I agree with their practice, but this is how the manufacturers get away with making an inexpensive product.
If you are concerned about the pattern match, stick to solids or high end brands like Waverly & Park Designs, the pattern match on their products are much more consistent.
